Northeastern Artillery Bastion of Hwaseong Fortres...
One of the five cannon forts at Hwaseong Fortress, Bukdongporu was constructed on September 23, 1794, in the 18th year of King Jeongjo’s reign, between Janganmun (North Gate) and Hwahongmun (Northern Floodgate). The artillery position is built on a bastion of the fortress wall.

Bukdongchi (Northeastern Turret)
Chi are turret-like protruding sections placed at regular intervals along a fortress wall from which defenders could protect the fortress and drive back an approaching enemy. There are ten such structures at Hwaseong. The term chi, which literally means "a pheasant," was applied to these structures because pheasants are adept at hiding and remaining watchful. Bukdongchi is directly linked to Bukdongjeokdae (Northeastern Gate Turret).

Hwaryeongjeon Shrine, Suwon
Historic Site No.115 (designated on January 21, 1963) Hwaryeongjeon Shrine was set up next to Hwaseong Haenggung (a temporary royal palace) in 1801 (the 1st year of the reign of King Sunjo) to enshrine King Jeongjo’s portrait. Unlike other shrines in which mortuary tablets are kept, this one was built specifically for King Jeongjo’s descendants to pay homage to him.
